What does "normal" preferred serving frequency mean?

Follow

What is considered a "normal" preferred serving frequency is determined by MSP by taking into account how many volunteers you have and how many positions you have to fill. It's seen as the average number of times an individual could expect to serve based on those two numbers, so it varies from church to church. There's no way to set the "normal" manually, as it is calculated internally by the program.

We generally recommend administrators of MSP adjust the preferred serving frequency of volunteers who specifically request to be scheduled more or less frequently than the average, but changing all the volunteers from "normal" can disrupt the normal distribution and hamper the auto-scheduler.
