Service planning features to deprecate in early 2020

Scheduling is no easy task, so it’s important that the tools you use to schedule and manage volunteers are effective and up-to-date. This is why Ministry Scheduler Pro is always growing and changing — to support the ever-changing needs of schedulers. As the next MSP release approaches, we’ll retire three features so MSP remains the streamlined scheduling tool you need to schedule volunteers: sequence items, comments, and the resource library.

  1. Sequence items

Sequence items are a way for you to outline the order of service. Starting with MSP 8, this feature will not longer be an option.

As an alternative, you will be able to add your service sequence as a resource to the service and make sure that volunteers have access to the same information.

  1. Comments

Comments are a feature that allow volunteers and leaders to communicate directly on the service plan page. By eliminating this extra communication location, less information will get lost or missed.

Do you still want to grant volunteers the ability to connect directly? Choose "email" as a field when posting the roster online so volunteers have quick and easy access to communicate. Also, encourage volunteers to connect with schedulers and Leaders directly by replying to emails or text messages sent through the Announcements pane.

  1. Resource library

The resource library is a catalog of all of the resources you have previously uploaded to the Web Terminal. With the retirement of the resources library, you will still be able to upload resources, they just won't be stored online for future use. This will ensure the resources being used are accurate and current.
