Reset volunteer username and password as an administrator

Follow

Do you have any volunteers who have forgotten their password but are not familiar enough with computers to retrieve their login information? As an administrator, you can make this process easy by resetting a volunteer's password for them.

  1. Click on the Web Terminal pane on the left side of the program.
  2. Click the "Login as..." button in the bottom right-hand corner of the window.
  3. Locate this particular volunteer in the list of your volunteers and click on their name once to highlight it.
  4. Beneath the list of volunteers, you will see, in bold, the volunteer's username and password. NOTE: If this volunteer has ever logged into the Web Terminal, their password will appear as "[secret]" for security purposes.
  5. Click the small arrow to the right of the username or password you wish to change.
  6. In the window that appears, you can change the username or password to one that is easy to remember or requested by the volunteer.

Once you have updated the password, you will need to send it to the volunteer. Sending them an email with the Web Terminal password token from within MSP will NOT work, as the new password will be hidden for security. Instead, we recommend sending this to them via personal text message so that the information is not tied back to their MSP account.
